What is the best way to stop rhino poaching?

Although costly, rhinos need be under constant surveillance This would involve micro chipping all rhinos, having rhino surveillance teams/'body guards' tracking them 24/7, etc. Rhino poaching is extremely hi-tech and involves helicopters, night vision goggles, etc. To keep a watchful eye on all rhinos, and protecting all rhinos this way would be very expensive.

Inject their horns with poison to avoid poachers getting any benefit from them. "The horn is made of hair, there is no blood flow through it and so far we have not seen any effects," [Ed Hern] explains. "But if someone used the horn as medicine they would get very sick or die." This should decrease demand and poaching. However, if somebody were to die from ingesting a poisoned rhino horn, those responsible for the horn would be held accountable (rhino horn DNA can be traced to a specific area)

Put all the rhinos in zoos.

But rhinos are more likely to trample threats to death than kill with their horn. Removing horns from a rhino does little to protect it. Poachers will still go after a dehorned rhino and shoot it, because even the stump is valuable. And if the stump too is gone, we heard, the trackers will kill the rhino just so they won't waste 3 days tracking the same useless animal again.
